Kingdom Kids in Sioux Falls
Kingdom Kids is children's ministry at Center of Life — one room for mixed ages, nursery through school age. If you are not sure whether your child fits, bring them and ask at the check-in table. We would rather work it out with you on the morning than have you stay home wondering.
Your children start the 11:00am service with you. We worship together as one room, and that part matters to us. Around 11:30 our leaders walk the children upstairs for a lesson built for their age and a group of people who know their name.
Kingdom Kids meets on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sundays. The first Sunday of the month is Family Sunday — children stay in the service with you, by design.
Every child is checked in before they go up. You do it yourself at the check-in station; it takes under a minute the first time and seconds after that. You will be given a security label — keep it. That label is what releases your child at pickup, and the same adult who checks a child in should be the one who checks them out. No label, no handover.
Every volunteer is background-checked before they are ever in a room with children, and our check-in system enforces it. New volunteers are never alone; they are paired with an experienced leader. One adult for every four children, every week. No adult is ever alone with a child in a closed room, and restroom trips are walked by two adults. Snacks are peanut-free and provided by us. No photographs of any child without a parent's permission.
If your child has a disability or additional needs, please come, and please tell us about them. We keep an Inclusive Children's Ministry form that asks what a leader actually needs to know — medical and allergy information, how your child communicates, what triggers a hard moment and what helps. Ask any Kingdom Kids leader for it, or fill it in before you come. You should not have to explain your child from scratch at a desk on a Sunday morning.
Kingdom Kids is not childcare. Our leaders prepare a lesson and pray over it during the week. If a child would rather not take part on a given morning, we will bring them back to you rather than make the room a fight.
